The B.I.G. (Before It’s Gone) Foundation

UK Registered Charity number: 1195244

Established in 2021 to provide legacy for the ongoing B.I.G. Arctic Research Expeditions led by British Polar Explorer, Felicity Aston MBE, The B.I.G. Foundation aims to support projects and initiatives that, in the opinion of the trustees, represent pioneering, innovative or otherwise worthy work and that are in the spirit of the B.I.G. project.

The aim of the Foundation is to help individuals and groups to ‘make it happen’ - whatever ‘it’ might be!

The Foundation is particularly interested in helping projects and initiatives that reflect the values, aims and inclusive ethos of the B.I.G. arctic Research Expeditions. These include: young people (under 25), the environment, STEM, gender equality, issues around diversity and inclusion, education, scientific exploration, adventure and undertakings that promote professional or personal development.

The B.I.G. Foundation will develop and maintain funds from which periodic financial grants will be made to projects, organisations or individuals in any part of the world to support them in achieving worthwhile ambitions and inspire others to equally worthy aspirations.

The Foundation does not currently invite unsolicited applications - applications are by invitation only. This is to ensure that only those the Foundation feels it can meaningfully help will spend precious time and resources making an application.
